Committee Chair on Labor and Social Policy Meets with Representatives of Mothers’ Civic Organizations

On January 20, 2009 the chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy received in parliament representatives of different civic associations of mothers. The meeting was held in the presence of other members of the committee, the chairman of the Social and Economic Council, Mr. Lalko Dulevsky and officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
The attendants discussed 18 proposals submitted by the protesting mothers’ organizations. In the course of the talks the parties agreed that the proposals should first be made more detailed and addressed to the competent state institutions. Representatives were promised that the proposals, being of direct competence of the parliamentary committees would be reviewed and discussed on a special joint session of the said committees.
The attendants also reached the decision that in the next few days, the chair of the Social and Economic Council will hold a meeting with them and discuss their concerns.
